Water main replacement in Woking, Surrey With Moling | Recent Water Main Jobs

POSTED: May 07, 2016

Our customer contacted us via our website, asking for a quote to have a new water main installed as her current supply was an old lead pipe which had developed leaks in several different locations.

After our lead engineer spoke with the customer, we arranged for one of our water engineers to visit the property the following day, to develop a plan and answer any questions the customer might have. Following this we provided the customer with our competitive quote which she accepted on the spot. We returned for the next couple of days Thursday and Friday 12th and 13th of January to complete the works.

We started by excavating at the boundary of the property in a flower bed to find the water main as it entered her boundary. We carried out a second excavation under shingle to the side of her property, then a third at the rear under block paving. We moled between our three excavations. We then brought the pipe up into her kitchen, before connecting the new supply to her internal stop tap. Once the new supply was installed we tested the system and confirmed it was installed correctly and there were no leaks on the supply.

We then back filled our excavations, we made sure to reinstate the block paving, shingle and flower bed, where our excavations were made, making sure that the site was left in the same condition that we found it before starting our repairs.

We used a small excavator to help with our excavations We istalled the new blue poly pipework with a method called moling this is an open moling pit which was used for the installation
